Official Launch of Traditional Chinese Translation of GRI Universal Standards 2021
Source: Latest News and Events, GRI homepage
In October 2021, GRI released the updated Universal Standards, GRI Universal Standards 2021.
With much anticipation, the official Traditional Chinese version of the updated Universal Standards is set to be released on September 7, 2022. The translation work was carried out by the Business Council for Sustainable Development of Taiwan (BCSD Taiwan), which will also be holding a launch event for the release on the same date. Featuring an opening speech by Eelco van der Enden, CEO of GRI, keynote speeches, and a panel on the application of the revised standards, the launch event is free and will take place both physically and virtually at 1:30pm on September 7, 2022 (GMT+8).
As a BCSD member organization and sponsor of BCSD’s translation project for GRI Universal Standards 2021, JYG Consulting is excited to be joining the launch event. We are also one of the Peer Reviewers for the ongoing translation project for GRI's very first Sector Standard, GRI 11: Oil and Gas Sector 2021. It is our great honor to be part of the ESG community and to be helping clients create more value through the implementation of robust sustainability strategy.
The revised Universal Standards include key changes such as further emphasis on human rights and due diligence, new guidance on identifying material topics, updated reporting principles and so on. The update merits attention from the business community, which will be required to follow the updated standards to prepare and publish their ESG reports for 2022 as the updated standards become effective on and after January 1, 2023.
BCSD Taiwan’s launch event is an opportunity not to be missed for anyone hoping to gain a better understanding of the updated GRI standards and what lies ahead for their sustainability reporting work. We at JYG look forward to joining the informative launch event with you on September 7, 2022!
